Title: Receipt of Grants and Other Funds

In accordance with Act 52, Section 24 of the Acts of 2007, the following is submitted:

Energy Conservation Measures – Sec. 24 (a)(3)

During fiscal year 2007 the Department of Buildings and General Services accepted a grant from the United States Department of Energy routed through the Public Service Department for a kiosk at the Alburgh Welcome Center.  This Renewable Energy Research and Development Grant (CFDA Number 81-087) was in the amount of $11,818 and required a $2,955 match.  The kiosk and monitoring equipment track the electrical output and weather conditions of the wind turbine installed at that location a few years ago.  The information is available bilingually on a touch screen interactive monitor for visitors and school children.  Information available includes wind data, cost savings of electricity produced, animated graphics, and a video presentation of the system and its economics and history as well as wind information within the State of Vermont.

Health and Forensic Laboratories – Sec. 24(a)(4)

During calendar year 2007 the Department of Buildings and General Services received no additional grants for the combined Health and Forensic Laboratory.
