Welcome to the Department of Buildings and General Services Workplace Safety & Training Division. 

Workplace injuries and illnesses produce human suffering, economic and social losses, and impair the operating efficiency of state government. BGS Workplace Safety & Training assists state agencies and departments to promote safe work environments through training and on-site consultation. We provide program reviews, on-site consultations, and ergonomic training, with particular emphasis placed on policies, programs, and procedures that promote workplace safety and accident prevention.

Workplace Safety & Training works to improve safety in our workplace by conducting injury prevention analysis of reported incidents. Our goal is to examine the incident and conclude what can be done to prevent a similar incident from reoccurring in the future. We also monitor and evaluate statewide injury trends and exposures to determine if they are being properly addressed and make recommendations to mitigate workplace injuries.

BGS Workplace Safety & Training, in partnership with The Summit: Center for State Employee Development (DHR), offers a suite of online, web–based health & safety trainings.
