Vehicle Rental Information

The Office of Purchasing & Contracting (OPC) participated in a multi-state cooperative purchasing process for rental vehicles. As a result of this cooperative bid process, two Contracts for rental vehicles were awarded. The awarded vendors are Enterprise Holdings or ELRAC Inc. 39195 and Hertz Corporation 39199.

The contracts offer rental vehicles for use by state employees when traveling on official state business and contain separate rates for rentals originating within Vermont and rates for rentals originating outside of Vermont.

All rental rates include the following:

• Unlimited mileage
• One(1) million dollars supplemental liability protection
• Full damage waiver insuracne coverage with no deductible
• No additional insurance should be purchased by the end-user

Rentals originating within Vermont, end-user will need their State of Vermont department specific Customer number to make a reservation. If you do not know what your State of Vermont department specific customer number is, please contact your Business Manager.

The vendors will provide free vehicle drop off and pick up for rentals originating within Vermont if requested and dependent upon rental facility staffing availability.

For rentals originating outside of Vermont, the end-user will need to provide a valid driver’s license and credit card, i.e. the State of Vermont PCard, in addition to their State of Vermont department specific customer number to make a reservation.

All vehicles shall be provided with a full tank of fuel. End-users are reminded to refill the fuel tank before returning the vehicle or the vendor will refill the fuel tank and invoice the department for the missing fuel at the average retail cost of fuel for the market at the return location.
